How to best preserve your MOKO panels after purchase:
You just bought your first MOKO panels. Congratulations on your new feature wall!
The only thing left now is to best preserve your new MOKO panels.
Don’t worry, this a list of things you should NOT do, not things you have to do.
Good news:
By following just a few simple guidelines, your MOKO wall will remain just as beautiful as it is today.
Before we start, what is a MOKO panel exactly?
A MOKO panel is an piece-of-art 3D wall panel made from engineered veneer of the highest quality, which in the end is coated by default with a matte finish, only meant to be used indoors.
Now that we got that out of the way…
First, let’s get into the topic where most people make mistakes:
How to KEEP your MOKO wall CLEAN:
In case you need to clean one or multiple panels, only clean your MOKO wall with a dry, microfibre cloth with soft, linear wipes in the direction of the wood grain.
This should be enough, as from standard operation the only thing you need to clean off the panels is some dust now and then.
NEVER use an abrasive cleanser or cloth!!
These are much too coarse for your MOKO panels and have a good chance on hurting the finish on your panels.
What to keep your MOKO wall safe from:
For the best longterm results, please be mindful about keeping your MOKO wall away from:
- Direct exposure to sunlight
Exposure to direct sunlight (specifically UV waves) will definitely white-out your panels to a certain degree.
The more they’re left out in the sun, the more severe this bleaching effect will be.
- Direct contact with water
Any sort of water, or even worse, any cleaning agent can and probably will cause surface damages to your
MOKO panels, so please be excessively careful not to introduce these elements to your wall.
Worst-case the water enters the ‘pores’ of the veneer, in which case the veneer will warp the surface of the panel(s).
- Prolonged exposure to humidity / moisture
Humidity and moisture will cause the same issues as contact with water, just much slower.
